Why less can be more sometimes in the punting game
Good decision making is the key to turning a profit in the long term when it comes to punting. You can be the best judge of a horse around, but most of the time you will whittle a race down to two or three and picking the right one defines your profitability.
It’s not just picking the right horse, but also the right races to bet in and at the end of the year I always look back at the previous 12 months in a bid to assess where I went right and wrong.
I know many punters who believe that being selective is the way to go. They aim to minimise the number of losers and load up on their stronger fancies. However, I often find the more confident I am, the worse the results and it’s usually my speculative bets that prove the best.
