Wells Farhh Go had traded at 360 when coming from an unpromising position to get up close home on his debut at York last month and he left it even later stepped up in class in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York. Tim Easterby’s colt needed every inch of the 7f trip to nail James Garfield after trading at 110. More than £1,000 was traded on the runner-up at 1.02

Edward Lewis was backed down to 1.66 in the 5½f handicap, but he was never getting to Desert Law, who had over a length in hand at the finish.

Neither Barney Roy nor Churchill traded below 2.1 in the Juddmonte International, as their personal duel set things up for Ulysses.
