Well-regarded Laughton stands out in closing sprint

The Qatar Goodwood Cup will be the highlight of the day for many but it's not the most enticing betting heat as far as I'm concerned.

Last year's winner Big Orange is solid, although he had only a neck to spare over Quest For More 12 months ago, and I'm not sold on Sword Fighter. With nothing else jumping out, I'm happy to leave the race to others. On the other hand, the big-field 5f sprint handicap - the Tatler Stakes (5.30) - that closes the card is more up my street, withLaughton the one who stands out.

I remember Kevin Ryan giving Laughton a good mention in an interview on Racing UK at the Craven meeting when asked to recommend a runner to follow for the season. Plus, in a stable tour last month, Ryan confirmed he has always thought a lot of this horse.
