It’s fair to say that Warriors Tale hasn’t quite lived up to expectations over the past 12 months but, as a result, he finds himself potentially well treated on the pick of his form and looks the answer to Newbury’s CSP Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (1.30).

A dual hurdles winner for Nicky Richards at the beginning of 2015, the son of Midnight Legend looked just the type to excel in staying chases when switched to champion trainer Paul Nicholls last campaign.

He began in highly encouraging style when narrowly defeated by Spookydooky on soft ground at Newbury’s Hennessy meeting off a mark of 135.
