It's not easy for newcomers to start their racing careers at Galway, and therefore eyecatching runs from such debutantes stand out a little bit more.

This filly by Fast Company made a somewhat belated debut in this admittedly ordinary 7f maiden. Never in the hunt, she didn't really start to get going until the climb to the straight but, from over a furlong out, she made good and consistent headway to pass quite a few of her rivals.
