Wednesday's free racing tips: our experts give their best bets of the day

Handicappers' nap

Gamesters Icon (4.05 Nottingham)

Pulled a long way clear with a subsequent easy winner when completing a hat-trick at Doncaster last month, and still looks favourably treated despite a 7lb rise.

Newmarket nap

Depose (5.40 Kempton)

This Hugo Palmer-trained filly looked as though this step up to 7f was on her radar when second over a furlong shorter here last time. The juvenile has since worked well on the Al Bahathri.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Warne's Army (12.20 Nottingham)

Didn't show much first time out and was still very green on her next appearance, but the penny seemed to drop in the straight and came home best of all in third. Well worth considering in a similar race.

Irish Angle

The King Of Kells (2.45 Dundalk)

A third nursery win could be on the cards for Michael Mulvany's gelding, who has scored twice at the Curragh in similar races. Up 7lb for his victory last time, he can score again under Gary Carroll.
Tony O'Hehir

Ace Tipster

Silver Samurai (6.10 Kempton)

Improving colt who showed a nice change of gear on soft ground at Brighton last time. Makes his handicap debut off a workable mark of 79 and should appreciate the step back up to 7f.
Tom Collins

Speed Figures

Ashington (12.40 Musselburgh)

Enjoyed a convincing first hurdling success at Stratford last month, recording a decent time in the process, and can follow up.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Gennady (3.55 Musselburgh)

Built on early promise to make winning handicap debut at Kelso last month over two miles. Now 10lb higher but had something to spare and there could be more to come from this unexposed five-year-old.
Ben Hutton

Dark horse

Espoir De Guye (3.10 Chepstow)

Was second to the talented Flash The Steel when last seen in March and looks the type to progress now sent chasing for in-form trainer Venetia Williams.
David Revers

Must-have stat of the day

Keith Dalgleish and Brian Hughes are 16-35 when teaming up at Musselburgh, for a £1 level-stakes profit of £22.17. The pair combine with El Picador, who makes his hurdling debut at 1.45.
