JP McManus is responsible for four of the 12 runners in the 2m6f handicap chase (1.10) at Punchestown but recent form, potential and jockey bookings suggest that Close Shave is the one to be on.

McManus won the race with a similarly unexposed type in Rogue Trader 12 months ago and there was lots to like about the way Close Shave won his beginners chase at Thurles last month over this trip, getting on top close home having been badly hampered in the early part of the race.
