Veteran looks in good enough form to play a hand

No. 4

5.35 Chepstow
1pt win at 7-1 generallyIf I was going to make one of the 11-year-olds favourite for this contest it would be Church Hall rather than Royal Palladium, who hasn't shown much for a year and a half and whose best form is on softer ground than is likely here.

Church Hall sprang a 50-1 surprise over course and distance in January, but the way he ran before tipping up at the last at Stratford suggests it was no fluke as he ran to a similar level.

He was never going to trouble the front pair, but he'd just moved into third around a track and trip that's a little on the sharp side. That was a good deal better race than this one too and Church Hall has every right to go close in his current form.
