Uttoxeter Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway has a small perm over the jumps

A couple of my best bets come at Uttoxeter so the Placepot there makes some appeal.

Those with experience don't set a fearsome standard in the opening 2m novice hurdle (1.55) and it may pay to go with the debutants. Rock Legend and Turpin Gold look most likely.

The 2m6½f novice handicap chase (2.30) is a cracking race that will throw up future winners. Dog Of War and chasing debutant Lord Accord are my two against the field.

Only two places are on offer in the 2m7½f handicap hurdle (3.05), but Trincomalee is one of the bets of the day and rates banker material. He is better than his current mark if he is fit.

Nine runners are declared for the 3m handicap chase (3.40) and, provided there is no more than one non-runner, there will be three places on offer. That makes No No Maestro a banker.

A big field is set to go to post for the 2m handicap hurdle (4.15) and two may be needed. The hat-trick seeking Orchard Grove is the obvious choice, but Lonimoss Bareliere could go well.

The 2m bumper (4.50) looks a match between Becky The Boo and Lady Excalibur. Preference is for Lady Excalibur, who won well on her debut at Stratford in July.
