US racing tips: Tom Collins looks to add to last week's winner with three picks

The countdown to the 2021 Breeders' Cup continues with the showpiece two-day meeting now just two weeks away.

The vast majority of leading contenders have already completed their prep but there's still some quality on show and money to be made at Keeneland and Belmont Park this Saturday.

Soldier Rising heads the punting portfolio as he makes his third start for trainer Christophe Clement in the Grade 2 Hill Prince Stakes (9.52 Belmont Park) after moving from France.

This well-bred son of Frankel performed to a relatively high level for Andre Fabre earlier this year but quicker ground has resulted in significant improvement.

After a highly creditable second to State Of Rest in the Saratoga Derby on his US debut, Soldier Rising battled well to fill the same berth behind the extremely talented Yibir in the Jockey Club Derby when last seen.

Now fully acclimatised to the different style of racing, he can make it third-time lucky despite a far-from-ideal draw in gate 11.

King Moonracer won't have any draw troubles from gate four in the $55,000 starter allowance (8.15 Belmont Park) earlier on the card and is fancied to back up an impressive maiden success for trainer George Weaver.

This three-year-old recorded a couple of eyecatching speed figures before achieving his first success at this track three weeks ago. A similar effort might suffice against a weak group under Javier Castellano.

Over at Keeneland, keep an eye out for Quick Return in the $36,000 claimer (7.04) for non-winners of two races.

Trainer Fausto Gutierrez is having a phenomenal year (15-56), especially with his runners first off the claim and he's found the perfect spot for this recent Belmont winner to excel.

Ideally drawn (no speed inside) for a rail-skimming trip in behind the leaders, this gelding should get the evening off to a perfect start.
