New Jersey is the place to be in the US on Saturday as Monmouth Park hosts five stakes races, two of which are Grade 1s, with the Haskell Stakes taking centre stage. However, my attention is on the $400,000 Molly Pitcher Stakes, where the Chad Brown-trained Search Results is taking a welcome drop in grade.

This four-year-old daughter of Flatter is a class act. From nine lifetime starts she has five victories, a second and three third-placed efforts. She has never finished out of the frame and has some outstanding form in the book.

She was slow to come to hand, not making her debut until she was a three-year-old, but quickly showed she could be well above average by winning her first three starts before finishing second behind the high-class Malathaat in the Kentucky Oaks.

That was a great run as she showed a determined attitude to push the winner all the way to the wire and we didn’t have to wait long before she got that elusive first Grade 1 victory in the Acorn Stakes at Belmont Park on her next start.

She was off the track for eight months before returning in April and landed a Grade 2 before finishing third in a Grade 1 last month. This drop in class to a Grade 3 should be welcome and she can take this with the use of first-time Lasix, which could bring about more improvement.

Mark Casse has never won the $200,000 Grade 3 Caress Stakes at Saratoga but he looks to have a major say this time around with Souper Sensational, who should come on a huge amount from her run in a Grade 2 at Woodbine last month.

Since being dropped back in distance this filly has shown a very good level of form. She’s a Grade 3 winner over six and a half furlongs and, with form figures of 22 at this course, it is clear to see she likes it here. With improvement expected off the back of her latest run, she should go well under Dylan Davis, who can deliver her with a late run in the stretch.
