US racing tips: Shane Ketteridge with two Saratoga selections

Chad Brown has won the $500,000 Grade 1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga six times in the last 11 renewals and he saddles four of the six runners this time with the unbeaten Bleecker Street likely to go off a warm order.

But it’s one of his other challengers, Technical Analysis, who can remain unbeaten at this course.

This race is the highlight on the third day of Saratoga’s summer meeting with six females set to do battle over 1m1f on the turf. In Technical Analysis we have a Kingman filly who won two Graded events here last summer and it’s only a matter of time before she wins one at the top level.

All five of her victories have been on the turf at either a mile or 1m½f, but she shapes as though she will get this extra distance, especially given the way she finished off her race when winning a Grade 3 at Pimlico last time out.

She made all the running and found plenty for urging under Jose Ortiz, who takes the ride again. If he can get her out of the gates and into a forward position from stall one, then all her rivals may find it difficult to catch her.

The penultimate race at Saratoga is the $175,000 Grade 3 Sanford Stakes for two-year-old colts over six furlongs on the dirt, and one who can go well on his second start is Brad Cox’s Mo Strike, who showed a lovely attitude to win a hotly contested maiden special weight at Churchill Downs last month.

On debut, his jockey Florent Geroux stalked the pace early on before easing out three wide turning in and kicked clear to win by three quarters of a length.

He showed a genuine attitude to hold off his rivals and so, with improvement expected, he can have a say in this from a perfect draw in stall six.
