US expert Tom Collins selects Oaklawn Park raider in the feature at Will Rogers

Kiana's Love
7.15 Will Rogers Downs
1pt win

Cheers And Prayers
8.15 Will Rogers Downs
1pt each-way

Great Faces
9.15 Will Rogers Downs
2pts win

The feature contest on Tuesday's Will Rogers Downs ten-race card is the aptly-named $55,000 Will Rogers Stakes (9.15), in which six three-year-old geldings are set to go to post.

There will be plenty of money about for the Scott E Young-trained Southgate, a one-time winner from eight starts who has been competing in Listed and other black-type events since making his debut at Prairie Meadows last June.

He is clearly highly regarded and Young does incredibly well at this venue, so he is respected, but I'm not convinced he stays a mile and he could be vulnerable late-on to a better stayer.

Consequently he is worth taking on at the prices, with preference instead for the winless Great Faces, who remains unexposed after three career starts and has shown signs of ability on a couple of outings.

The Donnie Von Hemel-trained gelding made his debut in November last year, when he finished an encouraging second. He was reasonably well fancied that day and stuck on powerfully in the stretch to pass several rivals.

Great Faces returned to the track four months later at Oaklawn Park and filled the same berth after a pace duel. He wasn't passed easily that day and only went down by a neck at the wire, but it was his speed figure that caught the eye.

Great Faces disappointed back in maiden special weight company when last seen, where he made most of the early running before giving way after six furlongs. However, he was forced to go far too fast and will prefer the smaller field today.

The rival who denied him on debut, Kirkcules, beat Southgate and Khola (both tackle Great Faces here) in the Don McNeil Stakes in November, so his form stacks up well and I'll be backing him to get off the mark at the fourth attempt.

The opening $13,750 claimer (7.15) on the card is a good-looking affair and I'm hopeful that Kiana's Love can record her third career success.

This Can The Man filly was originally based on the west coast and made an impressive debut when making all in a $65,000 maiden special weight contest at Santa Anita (E-Speed figure of 92) when trained by Phil D'Amato.

She subsequently struggled at Del Mar and Golden Gate Fields and passed through the hands of a couple of trainers, but caught the eye on her penultimate outing when second for Jonathan Wong after being squeezed out at the start.

Kiana's Love made a big move to pass a number of rivals four-wide on the track and was also forced deep on the turn. She was no match for the winner that day but clearly caught the eye of the William Morey barn, who claimed her.

She made a winning start for Morey at Turfway Park last month after a two-month layoff and she should be rock-hard fit now as she makes her Will Rogers debut.

Her early pace should enable her to make every yard of the running and the booking of Ty Kennedy is a clear plus. Chief market rival Love To Learn is drawn wide, too, which helps her chance.

The final selection is Cheers And Prayers in the $8,250 claimer (8.15) for trainer Arnold Morales.

It is a wide-open contest and those towards the head of the betting are drawn wide, so I'd be happy to oppose them with this prolific ten-time winner, who may not be as unexposed but will definitely run his race.

Partnered by Floyd Wethey jnr, Cheers And Prayers has a glorious inside pitch and can enhance his already impressive strike-rate if he is able to showcase his customary early pace.

He returned from seven months on the sidelines with an encouraging third-placed effort last time out and should be able to build on that here.
