Wentwood had little room to manoeuvre all the way up the home straight in a premier handicap at Leopardstown last week over 1m2f and could have enough pace to cope with the drop in trip for the mile handicap (2.55) at Killarney.
The four-year-old commenced his campaign with a narrow win in a red-hot handicap at Cork in April off a mark of 82. He is only 1lb higher now and this looks the weakest race he has contested for some time. It is a small field and Andrew Slattery takes off a valuable 5lb.
