Newmarket Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway's selections for a £75,000 guaranteed pool

There's a £75,000 guarantee for the Tote Placepot on Friday at Newmarket and it kicks off with the Cornwallis Stakes (1.15). Brussels sets a high standard on form and goes in alongside Beckford’s Folly, who has won twice over further at the neighbouring July course.

The Oh So Sharp Stakes (1.50) comes up next and Mubasimah is a fascinating contender, having been so impressive on her debut over course and distance. She goes in with Shady Dame, who was second there and also lines up. There's a good chance that form is strong.

Poet Master is my pick in the Challenge Stakes (2.25) but there are only two places on offer. Put Cosmic Year in as well, because the Kingman colt could bounce back to form.

Precise is worth taking on in the Fillies’ Mile (2.57), with Dance To The Music and Moon Target preferred, while in the 1m4f handicap (3.30) it’s worth including Ivatt and Minhad.

The 7f fillies’ maiden (4.10) is the final leg and this is a good opportunity for a banker because Act Of Kindness was third behind Mubasimah and Shady Dame on her debut over course and distance and those are my Oh So Sharp picks, so the form could be good enough.
