Lingfield Placepot picks: Robbie Wilders' perm for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

Bumper winner Calvino was an encouraging second on his hurdling debut for Paul Nicholls last month and should be thereabouts if building on that in the novice hurdle (12.42) that kicks off the Placepot at Lingfield.

King Of Thieves is a fascinating chasing newcomer in the next (1.17), while I'm Your Buckaroo has a future in this sphere on the evidence of his recent third at Fontwell. 

Spike Jones appeals most in the 2m7f handicap hurdle (1.52). He won this last year and gets to race off 1lb lower. 

Golden Ambition landed the other 2m7f handicap hurdle (2.27) on this card in 2024 and shaped well on his return from a break over fences in October. The unexposed Harry Junior, a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Harry Senior, is the main danger if he can settle better over this new trip. 

Cases can be made for plenty in the 2m4f handicap chase (3.02). Preference is for chasing debutants Dangerous Touch and Followcato, who both had form in point-to-points and showed promise over hurdles. 

Princess Keri's Chepstow second is working out well and she gets the vote in the final leg (3.37).
