Kempton Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Kempton on Wednesday and the opening 6f novice (4.55) is a good opportunity to use the unnamed favourite. Put Thai Princess and Moonshine into the perm, too, and we double our lines if two of the three are in the places.

There are eight declared for the 7f novice (5.30) and this should go to New Monarch, who sets the standard for the top team of Oisin Murphy and Andrew Balding. He rates a banker.

The following 7f handicap (6.00) is another with the dead eight lining up, provided there are no non-runners. Make the Richard Hannon-trained French Affair a banker. He is bred to go on the all-weather and has the turf form to run a big race on his first start after 180 days off.

The 7f handicap (6.30) is another race to utilise the unnamed favourite alongside Sarab Star and Mount Athos. Sarab Star will be favourite, but we can double lines if he is placed and also have the added bonus of Mount Athos there as a back-up should Sarab Star disappoint.

Rey De La Batalla and Atmosphere make the most appeal in the mile handicap (7.00), while it is worth making Al Barez one final banker in the 6f handicap (7.30) as long as eight line up.
