Hexham Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Hexham on Wednesday and the opening 2m4f maiden hurdle (2.11) kicks things off. It’s a tricky race with Bold Reflection an unknown quantity after 1,064 days off, so take her on with the course form of Cushendun and Wise Move.

The 3m novice handicap chase (2.41) comes up next and this looks like a good opportunity for Didntgotwenty, who won nicely at Musselburgh last time and has run well at this course.

Smart Decision is one of my bets of the day and is included in the 2m handicap hurdle (3.11) alongside The Cistercian, while the 4m handicap chase (3.41) could be between Pinot Rouge and Shighness. The latter finished second in the race last year and has dropped back to a nice mark.

Les’s Legacy is a lively outsider in the 2m4f handicap hurdle (4.11) but isn’t one who can be trusted with maximum faith. Cold Henry is in better form so include him in the perm.

There are only six runners and two places on offer in the 2m4f handicap chase (4.41), so it’s worth going with two again. Glory And Honour goes in alongside the well-treated Ned Tanner.
