Haydock Placepot tips: Paul Kealy with his perm for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Haydock on Friday and you need the winner of the first (5.40) as there are only three runners.

I'd be tempted to put all three in, but one of the topweights, Clear Force or Silent Applause, should have too much for Under The Radar.

Simon Walker is one of the better riders in the amateurs' race (6.15) and his mount Nibras Gold, winner of two of his last three on the Flat and an excellent third in a Class 2 handicap hurdle last time, looks very much the one to beat. Vaynor is well treated now and can do better back up in trip.

Mukhtalif looks a reasonable banker in the third (6.50). He was runner-up when a strong favourite last time, but the rain-softened ground won't have helped and he can leave that behind.

Beny Nahar also looks good for the frame in the next (7.25) as he showed plenty from the front when second on his debut and was well clear of the rest.

Yet another maiden follows on an unnattractive punting card and, while there are a couple of interesting newcomers, Ed Walker's Moonshine should see off those with experience at the very least. She's related to a few useful performers and was terribly green when an encouraging third on her debut.

At least the last (8.30) is a competitive handicap. Jim Crowley's form figures on Thapa Vc are 312261 and he's back on board for the first time since May, making that one a likely candidate. Added are Stratocracy, who has gone nearly a year without finishing out of the frame, and Crown's Lady, another highly consistent performer.
