Hamilton Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for a £50,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Hamilton on Wednesday and the 5f maiden (4.13) should be a straightforward opener. There are only four runners and the winner is needed, but Boston Dan is a class apart judged on what we have seen and should be far too good.

The first division of the 6f handicap (4.45) is another good opportunity for a banker because Lumenbourg has finished in the first three on all six starts this season and is the solid option.

The second division (5.15) looks like it could be between Respectful and Orbital Chime. Respectful is well handicapped and coming back to form, while Orbital Chime is in form.

The 1m5f handicap (5.45) looks like it could go to the Jim Goldie-trained Trojan Sun, who went too fast in front at Musselburgh last time. The lightly raced Alnayef looks the next best.

The 6f nursery (6.15) comes up next and Try Storm Cat is better than he showed at Goodwood. He goes in alongside Awaafi, who has shown her best form with ease in the ground.

Only two places are available in the 6f fillies' handicap (6.45), which is the last leg. That means a couple will be needed and Amayretto should go well, while Rock Melody is the alternative.
