Doncaster Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway's selections for a £100,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote’s £100,000 Placepot guarantee is in play on the second day of Doncaster’s St Leger meeting and the Betfred Mallard Handicap (1.15) kicks things off. Arqoob won well at Newmarket last time and goes in alongside the progressive three-year-old Synergism.

The 7f Listed race (1.50) is up next and I’m excited to see the impressive York novice winner Hankelow. He looked good on his debut and is a half-brother to Epic Poet, so rates a banker.

Lady Iman can bounce back from her Nunthorpe effort and be trusted in the Flying Childers (2.25), while it’s hard to see Sweet William being out of the first three in the Doncaster Cup (3.00).

The 1m4f fillies’ handicap (3.40) is a bit more tricky. Kitty Furnival has had plenty of racing but keeps running well and should be included alongside the rapid improver Bosphorus Rose.

The market might prove the best guide to the 7f fillies’ maiden (4.10), so put the unnamed favourite into the perm. However, it’s also worth going with the form runner in the race, Classic Cuvee.
