Doncaster Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for a £150,000 guaranteed pool
Our expert tipster with his picks for the popular Tote bet

The Tote are putting up a £150,000 guarantee for the Placepot on St Leger day at Doncaster and Treble Tee is the right favourite for the opening mile handicap (1.15). Point Of Contact is the other runner with a lot of potential upside and including both can see us through the first.
There are only five in the Champagne Stakes (1.50) and this is a good opportunity to use the unnamed favourite to our advantage. Oxagon is my idea of the winner and can be included, but I’d be wary of banking on him if the money came for market rival Gewan, so use the unnamed favourite to cover both bases. If Oxagon ends up favourite, we get two lines on him.
The Portland (2.25) is the big handicap of the day and a couple of my best bets go here in Rosario and Addison Grey, so include both, while the following Park Stakes (3.00) could be between Shadow Of Light and East Hampton. Put both of them into the perm.
The Betfred St Leger (3.40) is a cracker and Scandinavia should go in alongside Furthur, while the mile maiden (4.15) is a good opportunity for a banker with Del Maro.

It is expected that Delacroix will be extremely popular in the Swinger for the Irish Champion Stakes. That bet is quite good for ducking favourites, and with it being an open race behind with the potential to get messy, it could deliver a nice dividend.
The two obvious ones to put in are White Birch, who has a long-standing record of running well in races like this, and the progressive Zahrann who has likely been aimed at this race since Royal Ascot.
A final selection is for Hotazhell. He has been bubbling under this year but is yet to get a decent run at his racing. He ran well in a Grade 1 in the US last time and was doing his best work last year in the autumn.
