Ayr Placepot tips: Tom Segal with his perm for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

Five races with decent-sized fields make the Ayr Placepot a tough one to crack but to keep the perm manageable it is worth banking on Riki Tiki Tavi in the 6f maiden (2.20) after his excellent debut effort at York.
It is a bit risky banking on one in the 1m2f handicap (4.40) that concludes the Placepot but That Lucas Fella is one of the few that comes into the race in decent form and he will not mind any rain that falls.
The other races will probably all need more that one selection in the perm and in the amateur riders' handicap (1.45) that kicks off the card everything can be given a chance. However the topweights Parisiac and Stash the Cash look solid enough, while the Irish raider Higher Kingdom and the recent Hamilton winner Gemini Man look the best Placepot options in the classified stakes (2.55).
The more rain the better for Theoryofeverything in the feature mile handicap (3.30) after he shaped well on his comeback run at Haydock in May. It is also worth sticking in the three-year-old Eve's Boy down at the bottom of the weights. He should improve for stepping up to a mile for the first time.
With the Ed Walker team remaining in such good form Desert Heart looks worth considering on his handicap debut in the 1m2f handicap (4.05). Too much rain would make the ground and unknown for him, though, and so it is probably worth including the course-specialist Pol Roger too.
