With so much good racing for Flat fans to look forward to next week it's easy to already let the mind wander to the likes of California Chrome and co.

However, today's cards are a pleasant surprise. End-of-season fare can often fail to inspire, but this is not bad stuff at all so there's still plenty to be going on with for now.

There's a decent card at Chelmsford and in particular the 1m2f Class 2 handicap looks a cracker.
