Mead Vale was well backed at Taunton last time despite racing on ground much too soft and over a trip too short. He showed he was in good form by plugging on late to finish third and he will be much better suited to the step up in trip and prevailing conditions in the racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle at Kempton (2.55).
Last year he was second, 11 lengths clear of the rest, in a decent race at Ludlow under today's jockey off a higher mark. A repeat of that effort would give him a major chance.
