There is something for everyone this afternoon with four top-class juvenile races, a Group 2 for the older horses and three fiercely competitive handicaps as well.

With Godolphin having won the Marcel Boussac with another daughter of Dubawi at the weekend, their ten-length maiden winner Sobetsu will be all the rage for the Dubai Fillies' Mile (3.10), but for me the most interesting betting race of the day is the Godolphin Flying Start Old Rowley Cup (3.45). This is just the type of race Mark Johnston excels in and he saddles two runners – and I think it is worth backing both New Caledonia and Beaverbrook at big prices.

The case for New Caledonia is pretty obvious because he won a good race at Ascot two starts ago when upped to a mile and half for the first time and he wouldn't have enjoyed the soft ground one bit at Newbury recently.
