The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Wednesday

BANKER

(1.00 Nottingham)

A €320,000 breeze-up purchase last summer, King Ademar put up cracking efforts on his first two starts in novice company last season, running into a couple of useful types along the way, before being given the winter off. Coming into this turf Flat season King Ademar was the horse I was looking forward to the most and although I was disappointed that he got beaten into second on his reappearance over this course and distance, the form of that race has worked out extremely well since. Winner King Of Change finished second in the 2,000 Guineas on his next start, while the fourth home, Pondus, has won both subsequent starts and is now rated 98, and fifth Piper Arrow (rated 83) has also scored. King Ademar could be well treated on handicap debut off a mark of 87.

EYECATCHER

(8.45 Kempton)

John Gosden-trained filly who took six starts to get off the mark but ran consistently in above average maidens/novice events and should have improved from two to three. Beaten by the likes of Antonia De Vega (rated 99) and Vivionn (91) early in her career, Spanish Aria put up her best performance on her penultimate outing despite losing when second to Nausha (102) in a mile contest at Newbury. The duo pulled clear of a subsequent winner that day and it was no surprise that she managed to get off the mark when last seen despite not having to be at her best. The layoff isn't a worry and I expect her to go close on her first start in this sphere.
