BANKER

Swordbill (8.30 Kempton)

Showed very little on first four runs but the step up in trip to 1m6f and competing against horses with similar ratings helped him when second at Catterick on his penultimate start. He built on that when getting up late in the day at Chelmsford on Saturday despite not having the clearest passage through the race and clipping heels, which forced rider David Egan briefly up his neck. He steps up to 2m here will suit given how strong he was at the finish last time, and it's unsurprising to see him turned out under a penalty.

GOOD THING

Great Beyond(2.50 Yarmouth)

Well-bred Dansili colt, who has clearly had problems with his breathing and underwent a wind operation and was fitted with a tongue-tie after three starts in novice or maiden company. It didn't seem to help first time out, but that's often the case with horses learning they can now breathe throughout the race, but he absolutely hacked up when last seen on the all-weather and ranks a serious improver. He's back on the turf today, but the trip will suit and he's only 3lb higher for that win.
