The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday

BANKER

Greyzee (5.50 Chelmsford)

Rod Millman's three-year-old has improved since undergoing a gelding operation in the summer, stepping up in trip and entering handicap company, recording form figures of 52 on the all-weather this winter. He looked unlucky on his first run in the sphere when given plenty to do and being caught wide off the final bend, and nearly made amends last time out when racing keenly in the early stages probably cost him in the dying strides. He also raced a bit too prominently for his own good that day and if ridden with more restraint from his wide draw, Greyzee should make amends in emphatic fashion.

GOOD THING

Captain Cargo (2.45 Doncaster)

I was initially keen on Sliding Doors in this race now fitted with first-time cheekpieces, but cross-collateral form through Driftwood Haze suggests he has plenty to find with Caroline Bailey's Captain Cargo, who seems to be improving for every run. A big, scopey future chaser, Captain Cargo has shown copious amounts of potential in novice and handicap hurdles this winter, including when routing a decent field for the grade over 3m2f at Warwick last time out. He had loads left in the tank that day, which suggests a 9lb rise won't reach his ceiling, and although the drop back in trip is a slight concern, he has a nice change of gears when asked and could prove the strongest if there's a battle up in the run-in.
