The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday
BANKER
Melgate Magic (2.40 Southwell)
Mick Easterby's three-year-old has improved since entering handicap company with a fourth and fifth-placed effort at Chelmsford and Wolverhampton in November, before a drastic improvement on his first start here last month. Fitted with first-time blinkers on that occasion, Melgate Magic made most of the running and ran away from his rivals to record an easy eased-down success. He's gone up 9lb in the weights for that effort but has been freshened up since and could have more to come on this surface.
EACH-WAY PLAY
Croeso Cymraeg (2.05 Southwell)
Unexposed five-year-old who has improved since joining James Evans's yard from John Spearing in December. Sent off at 50-1 and 25-1 the last twice, Croeso Cymraeg has shown up well over this trip, including once at this course, and looks set to go off a nice price for each-way bets. Often held up, he should stay on strongly to go close off his lowly mark of 46.
