Aidan O'Brien has won eight of the last ten runnings of the Gallinule Stakes but his Conclusion needs to improve massively and it may be down to his son, Joseph, to bring home the prize with Latrobe. The three-year-old son of Camelot ran a really nice race on debut last year over an inadequate mile before narrowly going down to Hunting Horn, the subsequent Chester Vase third, on his reappearance when well backed at Naas. Further improvement is likely over longer trips in the future and given the amount of lofty entries he has, he's clearly well regarded at home.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Admodum (3.35 Curragh)

Quick ground in Ireland changes results and those who have been woefully out of form from the backend of last season and the beginning of this in testing conditions can begin to look extremely well treated. That's the case for Jim Bolger's Admodum, who hasn't handled ground described as soft/heavy and heavy on his last two starts but has now dropped to a mark where he looks likely to strike. His two turf wins have come on good and good to firm ground and this is the right trip for him. He landed a 15-runner Naas handicap off 2lb higher last year, he'll be in peak condition now he makes his third start of the campaign and a double-figure price looks tasty.
