BANKER

Accomplice (3.50 Lingfield)

Michael Blanshard's four-year-old filly is in flying form at the moment and should be able to follow up her course-and-distance success at the start of last month. Rated 64 when making her return to action on March 16, Accomplice ran a cracking race to go down by just half a length to Karen George's Secret Return despite going wide off the final bend. That winner has since recorded form figures of 42 in better races and the form stacks up well with the third and fifth scoring since. She duly went one better when last seen, clearing away from eight rivals to win by a length. The handicapper has only put her up an extra 3lb for that victory and everything is in place for another huge performance.

EYECATCHER

Spanish City (7.30 Newcastle)

Roger Varian's five-year-old has proved disappointing so far but is still unexposed with just seven starts to his name and is worth a second look on his first start over seven furlongs. His two victories have come on the back of 269 and 115-day breaks, suggesting now is the time to follow him in as he returns from a 314-day absence to tackle this 0-95 handicap. His best two performances based on RPRs have come on the all-weather here and the race should be run to suit. His pedigree suggests the step up in trip shouldn't be an issue.
