The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Wednesday

BANKER

Saaheq (3.35 Nottingham)

The Horsewatchers and Mick Appleby are a partnership to follow and they've done a great job with all of their purchases at the horses-in-training sales, including with this four-year-old who cost 26,000gns last October. Although he took a while to get to the track for new connections, he's proved a project well worth waiting for as he has won his only two starts in the space of seven days last month. He fairly hacked up both times over the minimum 5f trip, suggesting his marks of 71 and 76 completely underestimated him, and has been given a break since. He now tackles 6f for the first time, he's extremely unexposed and is just 5lb higher than when dotting up at Sandown. Surely he completes the hat-trick.

EYECATCHER

Rio Ronaldo (5.25 Salisbury)

This talented but quirky six-year-old is never one to put big stakes on such is his wayward nature (threw a race away at Sandown four starts ago), but he must surely go close in the Salisbury finale on his return to 5f. Mike Murphy's gelding has performed much better at the minimum trip over the last two seasons than when stepped up to 6f, and you can completely ignore his last start when pulling too hard over the longer trip at Doncaster. Before that he ran a nice race to finish fourth at Sandown and has run consistently well this season at the trip. He scored on his sole start over this course and distance earlier in the season and this race rates below-par for the grade.

DARK HORSE

Deansgate (6.00 Newcastle)

Trainer Julie Camacho is 0-22 in the last 38 days, but I'm willing to take a punt on this gelded son of Dandy Man ending the losing streak at Newcastle. The former course-and-distance winner (January this year) hasn't run particularly well off higher marks this summer, but caught the eye in behind a runaway winner at Redcar last time out and deserves another chance now back on the all-weather. He now competes off just 1lb higher than that success earlier this year.
