The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Tuesday
BANKER
Champagne Champ(4.35 Nottingham)
Rod Millman's seven-year-old is in flying form at the moment and won by a whopping 29 lengths at Ffos Las nine days when never in danger over hurdles. I was there that day and he really impressed, drawing clear with every stride and winning with his head in his chest. He reverts back to the Flat now off a very attractive mark of 79 and should really tear this field apart. An opening show of 2-1 is quite a lot bigger than I anticipated and the booking of Oisin Murphy is a sign of intent. I can't see him being beaten.
DARK HORSE
Duke Of North (5.00 Brighton)
This isn't the most competitive of races and plenty of punters will want Roy Rocket to win again at his beloved Brighton, but I think he will have his work cut out to beat Duke Of North. Jim Boyle's seven-year-old goes well here and looked unlucky not to finish closer when third over a mile at this course ten days ago having been hampered late on. He stayed on strongly that day after being outpaced and although he is not certain to stay this trip, it should suit on that evidence. Isobel Francis gets on well with him and he remains attractively handicapped.
EYECATCHER
Joseph O'Brien has plenty of chances at Punchestown over the course of the week, none better than this unexposed four-year-old who has his first start in handicap company. Highly regarded by connections, Konitho won impressively on his stable debut when beating 23 rivals by five lengths before being sent off a short 11-10 favourite to win a Naas novice hurdle. He disappointed on that occasion but the form has worked out really well with winner Band Of Outlaws subsequently landing the Fred Winter, third Coko Beach filled the runner-up berth at Cheltenham, while fourth Havingagoodtime won a Grade 3 by 18 lengths on her next outing. An opening mark of 132 could be very lenient.
