The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Thursday
BANKER
Kemboy(2.50 Aintree)
Clan Des Obeaux and Bristol De Mai ran crackers in the Cheltenham Gold Cup to finish fifth and third respectively, but that race may have taken quite a lot out of them and I'm happy to oppose them with Kemboy. Willie Mullins's charge unseated at the first last month after an awkward landing and never got to show his true colours. Now in a smaller field on a track that will suit, Kemboy should be able to make amends under Ruby Walsh to round off a fine 12 months for the seven-year-old.
EYECATCHER
Ucello Conti (4.05 Aintree)
Fluent jumping is going to be at a premium in the Foxhunters', a race that is run over the Grand National course, but one horse that has been here and done it before is Ucello Conti, who is set to have his fifth start over the big fences and must go close. Although he has only completed on two of his four starts at this course, he unseated his rider on the other couple of occasions (in the National itself) and looked extremely unlucky to do so. He jumps really well otherwise, ran a nice race at Cheltenham when given far too much to do and although this trip isn't ideal, he will take a lot of beating.
DARK HORSE
Dynamo Walt (8.00 Chelmsford)
The best bet away from Aintree looks to be Dynamo Walt, an eight-year-old trained by Derek Shaw, at Chelmsford. A course specialist at the Essex track with seven victories over this 5f trip, Dynamo Walt has performed well without winning over the winter but has seen his mark leniently dropped 6lb. Now competing off 82 (3lb lower than when last successful), Dynamo Walt rates a well-handicapped runner and this race is likely to be run perfectly for him to come out on top. There is so much pace in this field that he should be able to pounce late on as the leaders tire and hopefully hold off main danger Cowboy Soldier.
