The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Saturday

BANKER

Definitly Red(2.05 Aintree)

Winner of this Grade 2 staying chase last year, Brian Ellison would have targeted this fantastic jumper at the repeat bid and the way he went about his reappearance run at Wetherby, when beating three rivals including the useful Black Corton, suggested he could be better than ever this year. Winner of 13 of 26 career starts, Definitly Red is likely to dominate this race from the outset and can't be opposed despite his likely short odds.

GOOD THING

Steely Addition (1.55 Chepstow)

Philip Hobbs's yard is still in flying form and this six-year-old, who remains unexposed with just eight career starts to his name, can add another win to the trainer's recent tally. He will love the heavy ground at the Welsh venue, hacked up by ten lengths on his only start over this course and distance and proved he can jump well on his chasing debut when third behind Kilbricken Storm. There's nothing in this race of that winner's quality and I'd be disappointed if he didn't come out on top.

EYECATCHER

Shanahan's Turn (3.15 Aintree)

A Grade 2 novice chase winner when with Henry de Bromhead in 2014, Shanahan's Turn has taken a while to come back to himself since moving to Colin Tizzard's yard and is now able to compete off a handicap mark 18lb lower than his peak. His sole start over these fences resulted in his best performance for current connections, finishing second to stablemate Ultragold in the Topham in April. He had no chance over 2m on his most recent run, but this test is right up his street and I can't see him out the frame.
