BANKER

Silver Quartz (5.30 Windsor)

This doesn't look the best mile novice event you'll see this year and, although Bullingdon brings a decent level of form to the table, he will do well to fend off the promising Silver Quartz. Hugo Palmer's three-year-old colt, a son of Frankel, was sent off a well-supported favourite for a Newmarket contest last year and despite being beaten into second, he ran a great race for a horse so inexperienced. The form of that race hasn't worked out but he still looks a horse with a bright future and can get off the mark here.

EYECATCHER

Rattling Jewel(3.20 Naas)

Form figures of 00000 and an average defeat of 20 lengths on his last five starts, Rattling Jewel doesn't jump out at you. However, the six-year-old gelding makes his first start for Joseph O'Brien, an interesting move for the experienced handicapper, drops down the minimum trip and is running off his lowest mark for a year. His mark of 75 is certainly workable and given he won a 20-runner Curragh handicap off 1lb higher in this month last year, he's certainly one to watch out for if O'Brien has rejuvenated him. Rider Wayne Lordan knows him well and the return to five furlongs isn't a problem.

DARK HORSE

London Icon (5.05 Naas)

I was all over Adrian Keatley's London Icon on his seasonal reappearance in a handicap at this track in March and somehow he found one too good on that occasion. He's definitely a Group horse in the making and it looked as though a mark of 91 underestimated him, but he was well beaten that day although finishing three and three-quarter-lengths clear of the rest of the field. Maybe he'll be better for the run – he'll have to be to win this – but he remains a horse of interest this season and the booking of Gerald Mosse is a sign of intent. On Official Ratings he has to find 12lb with Romanised, but I think he's capable of going close.
