Garrison Commander(1.10 Nottingham)

A £32,000 purchase as a yearling, the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained Garrison Commander came in for plenty of support on his debut at Salisbury back in August (5-1 from 9) and ran a really encouraging race to finish a staying-on third behind the now 93-rated Flashcard. The second, John Betjeman, is no slouch either with a rating of 76 and with improvement likely, Garrison Commander should be good enough to go close in a race of the nature. The step up in trip is a big plus, and my only nagging doubt is the current form of the stable (0-18 in the last two weeks).
