The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with one to follow on Wednesday

BANKER

Rene's Girl (2.40 Cheltenham)

There aren't many horses I fancy over the five cards on Wednesday in truth and the ones I do (Brando, for example) are pretty short, so I am just going to stick to one selection and that is Dan Skelton's Rene's Girl.

The talented nine-year-old mare has been lightly raced in recent years and it looks to have been the plan to have given her a winter break before returning for this better ground in the spring. A former Grade 1 runner-up, Rene's Girl would have gone very close to denying the reopposing Mister Whitaker on her first run this year at Carlisle but for a bad mistake at the last and hasn't performed at her best the last twice. However, she has her ideal conditions, goes well fresh and her stable and jockey are in blistering form so she must have a huge chance of getting back into the winner's enclosure.
