The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Wednesday afternoon

BANKER

Line Of Reason(3.25 Bath)

There is plenty of pace on in this sprint down the hill at Bath and that should suit Line Of Reason, who is normally running at York's Ebor festival this time of year but is looking to exploit his lowly mark in Somerset instead. Rated 111 in his prime, Line Of Reason has falling down the ratings over the last couple of years but has been campaigned in the big-field handicaps nevertheless and will be grateful for this easier opportunity. His latest seventh at Glorious Goodwood was an encouraging effort and the handicapper leniently dropped him a further 3lb. He should go very close if handling the track.

EACH-WAY PLAY

(1.55 York)

Another Paul Midgley-trained sprinter, Orvar has to come into the reckoning for the opening contest of York's Ebor festival given he carries just 8st 12lb and looks well-in under a mandatory 5lb penalty following a recent Doncaster success. He did it very well that day, albeit in a much easier race than this, remains a well handicapped horse and looks to have a good draw. There are 22 runners, so it's pretty much a minefield, but he rates a good value each-way bet to kick off the festival.
