The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Wednesday afternoon
EYECATCHER
Mick Manhattan (3.50 Chepstow)
Showed ability in three starts with Evan Williams, including when scoring on debut at Ffos Las, before moving to Sam Thomas. Made an encouraging start to life with his new trainer when fourth of 14 at Exeter last month after being well backed. Winner Hang In There has subsequently scored in Grade 2 company at Cheltenham, while the second is a short-priced favourite earlier on the card. He now enters handicap company off a good mark of 112 and providing the big weight is no problem, he has to go close.
IRISH ANGLE
Caronda (2.25 Dundalk)
A 14-race maiden who is rated in the mid 40s and has only finished in the frame twice. Tough to pick, you'd imagine, but she has plenty of upside in this 1m4f handicap, not least the fact Shane Foley has been booked to ride. He was also onboard last time when Caronda made serious late headway to take second over a shorter trip here behind a well-treated rival and it's notable he retains the mount. The step up in distance will suit and hopes are high that she can finally get off the mark.
