The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday

BANKER

(6.30 Newcastle)

Recent scorer Babajan and the improving Blue Hero head the weights for this 0-75 handicap, but there's no question in mind that the best-treated runner is Woke Media. A three-year-old daughter of Kentucky Derby-winner Orb with plenty of dirt winners in her pedigree, the all-weather was always going to be the best surface for David Simcock's runner and it was no surprise to see her make a winning reappearance at Southwell earlier this month. That form is working out well with runner-up Nortonthorpe Boy scoring handsomely at Kempton next time, and a 4lb rise is more than fair.

GOOD THING

(2.45 Southwell)

Another filly with a US pedigree, Mirage Mac won her first three starts as a juvenile last year (twice on the all-weather, once at this track) before going off far too hard at Newcastle when she was looking to complete the four-timer. She may have needed the run on her reappearance at the start of the month and the drop back in trip and switch back to the Fibresand should be the catalysts to further improvement from this promising sort.
