The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday afternoon

BANKER

Russellinthebushes (4.15 Chester)

Tom Dascombe has won this race three times in the last eight years and should be adding to that tally courtesy of Russellinthebushes, who showed good speed to race prominently on debut before being run down by a similarly-precocious newcomer. The 24,000gns purchase attracted plenty of market support at Redcar last month and probably got left in front a bit too soon for her own good. From stall four, Richard Kingscote can bounce her out to gain a promising early position before going one place better than on her first start.

DARK HORSE

(2.15 Chester)

Ontario and Yibir, rated 109 and 107 respectively, bring solid juvenile form to the table and rightly head the market for the Dee Stakes, but neither convinced me on their seasonal reappearance and instead I'd rather side with the unexposed Foxes Tales. The Andrew Balding-trained colt showed plenty of improvement from two to three when he ran down the highly-touted Counsel in a competitive-looking Newbury maiden last month. A mile looked a bare minimum for him that day and this step up in trip will suit. Providing he handles the track, he looks the dark horse in the race.
