The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday afternoon
BANKER
Paths Of Glory(1.55 Newcastle)
Hugo Palmer's four-year-old has been in electric form of late, winning four of his last five outings, including once here over this trip. He dotted up that day under a hold-up ride and backed up that victory at Wolverhampton off a 5lb higher mark against some smart opponents last time. He has gone up in the weights again but he has been freshened up and the yard struck twice at Kempton on Wednesday. Hopefully he can continue to rise through the ranks with another score.
GOOD THING
Chris Gordon has slowly tipped away with this son of Doyen, who showed plenty of ability in novice hurdles last year and was only a length behind dual Listed winner Acey Milan in February. He had a break after that run and returned with a fine runner-up effort on chase debut, seven lengths behind the talented Rouge Vif. Baddesley Knight jumped well on the whole that day and there has to be further improvement to come in this sphere, especially now that he is going down the handicap route.
