The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Sunday afternoon

EYECATCHER

Ashtown Lad(2.28 Uttoxeter)

Jobsonfire and Duc Du Beauchene are feared, but the best-handicapped horse in what looks a competitive and quality edition of this Challenge Series qualifier is Ashtown Lad. A former point winner, Ashtown Lad will be a cracking chaser in time but has already made up into a smart prospect under rules after just three starts, the most taking of which came when making all in a novice event at Wetherby last month. This marks his first start in handicap company and given the way trainer Dan Skelton talks about him, a mark of 123 could prove extremely lenient.

GOOD THING

(4.00 Wolverhampton)

Dusk and Halfwaytothemoon have sexier connections, but the former looks fully exposed after five starts while John Gosden applies blinkers to the latter, who has looked limited in two starts. Therefore, this might be the perfect opportunity for Atavique, who races under a penalty for her debut Newbury success but should improve a great deal for the step up to 1m4f. She battled on grimly on heavy ground on her first outing, fending off some well-bred sorts, and given she's by Dubawi, she could make up into a nice prospect.
