River Nymph(3.40 Ascot)

A heavy downpour is likely to hit Ascot before racing on Saturday but soft ground shouldn't be a problem for River Nymph, who remains unexposed after just nine starts and has winning course-and-distance form to his name from last year. His two most recent outings were nothing to shout about, but he was drawn out on the wing in the Lincoln on his return and has a much better stall today in 24. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit the frame at a reasonable double-figure price.

DARK HORSE

(2.20 Nottingham)

There isn't much solid recent turf form on show in this 1m6f handicap and I'm hopeful to get a nice price on Jackamundo, who hasn't won since June 2019 but is now able to race off a 5lb lower mark and hinted that this was his ideal trip when second at Redcar in November. He didn't do much on his return but he appeared to need that run.
