The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

BANKER

Go Long (1.15 Newbury)

An unexposed chaser who has been lightly raced so far in his career and comes here on the back of a month off following a ninth-placed effort in a competitive handicap chase here. That was his first attempt at 2m4f over fences having previously been campaigned over shorter trips and it looked as if he didn't stay (fifth turning for home and faded out of contention). He was also pitched in against Oldgrangewood, Kalashnikov and Glen Forsa that day among others and this represents a big step down in class, as well as trip as he returns to 2m½f. This track appeared to suit him well and he can make a mockery of his falling mark of 126 (ran an RPR of 134 or higher on three occasions last winter/spring).

GOOD THING

Minella Times(2.50 Limerick)

Improving six-year-old who has gone under the radar despite some decent efforts and looks like the type who would be readied for a big race or string of victories. Trained by Henry de Bromhead, who has his team in good form, Minella Times got off the mark at the fifth attempt over fences (first in a handicap) when denying the talented Ben Dundee in a 0-150 at Navan last time out off a lightweight, and connections immediately mentioned the Paddy Power Chase as the likely target. He didn't get into that race, which was run yesterday, thanks to a mere 6lb rise in the weights, but that means he remains ridiculously well treated, especially when you take into account the 7lb claim of rider Hugh Morgan.

DARK HORSE

Burbank (3.35 Newbury)

Initial prices of around 10-1 look generous about Nicky Henderson's seemingly second string Burbank in the closing novices' handicap chase at Newbury. The relatively unexposed son of Yeats is unbeaten in one start (bumper victory on debut) at the track, has taken to fences well and should be excused for a below-par effort last time when racing keenly throughout the early stages at Sandown. His previous two efforts, especially when fourth of 21 in a Grade 3 hurdle at Aintree, were pretty decent displays and granted a faster early gallop, Burbank should at least hit the frame.
