A strong stayer who's 152 rating could prove lenient if he repeats his Reynoldstown Novices' Chase form from last year, where he fended off the reopposing Two For Gold and Danny Whizzbang with ease. Prior to that, Copperhead won over this course and distance, so returning to Newbury can be seen as a clear positive. Colin Tizzard's string weren't performing to their best at Cheltenham in March, while the same can be said in October when Copperhead was pulled up over hurdles on his reappearance. This has long been the target and a double-figure price is extremely attractive.

Just six runners will go to post for this Grade 2 chase but the market seems to have forgotten about One For The Team as he's been installed at around 8-1. Nick Williams, who trained a long overdue winner at Taunton earlier in the week, will have taken some positives from his six-year-old gelding's most recent display despite the fact he unseated Chester Williams at the last fence. He jumped well on the whole that day and the form has been boosted by the runner-up. One For The Team goes best at Newbury, has race fitness on his side and should be shorter in the betting.
