The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

EYECATCHER

(2.05 Wincanton)

Relatively unexposed seven-year-old who has shown he has talent but hasn't always managed to put it together on the track, winning just three of 14 career starts. Ar Mest appeared to take a big step forward last year, though, starting the season off a mark of 117 and being stuffed by 26 lengths on his reappearance before ending with a seven-length fifth to Al Dancer in a Grade 3 at Ascot last February off 9lb higher. He notched victories in December and January before that and this could be the time of year to catch him. His chase debut earlier this campaign didn't go to plan given he unseated his rider, but he was still going well when departing three out and there is some substance to that form. Niall Houlihan's 7lb claim helps a great deal and he's worth keeping an eye on.

BANKER

(3.00 Sandown)

Prolific point-to-point winner in his time (ten wins from 19 starts) who hasn't had that many chances under rules, so looks quite unexposed in the context of this veterans' handicap chase. Anthony Honeyball's 11-year-old has been in tip-top form this season, recording form figures of 121 on his last three outings over hurdles, and now reverts to fences. His chase mark of 132 looks pretty fair based on his narrow defeat at the hands of subsequent Scottish Grand National and Rehearsal Chase winner Takingrisks last season off 3lb lower and he should be in the firing line throughout.
