The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Friday afternoon

BANKER

Havana Rocket (4.45 Chelmsford)

Andrew Balding's string is firing on all cylinders this winter and he is represented by Havana Rocket, who is making his first start for 323 days. The layoff shouldn't be a problem, though, as he won when fresh after wind surgery in January last year in impressive fashion. That was his first start on the all-weather, and his only subsequent start (third at Wolverhampton a month later) was an improvement despite the fact he was beaten at short odds. The winner is now rated 22lb higher, while the second is 14lb higher in the weights. The fourth, fifth (twice) and sixth (twice) also give the form a seriously strong look. He stood no chance on his final run on the turf but is of interest now back off a nice mark on the all-weather.

DARK HORSE

(3.25 Ffos Las)

One of a couple of unexposed sorts in a very modest-looking field. Clearly been a late developer given he made his debut a month before he turned seven. Held up in the rear on all three starts and barely given a chance to get into his races, however, he caught the eye when a good sixth last time in behind the talented Gustavian and now makes his handicap debut off just 98. Heavy ground and this trip should suit well and significant improvement can be expected.
